Taiwan Plus Taiwan+ is a personal book design project finished in 2020, after my exchange program in Taiwan.

I wrote and collected 22 short essays organized into 5 chapters. I drew and edited a lot of images and tested a variety of visual styles. Finally, I designed the layout of the 220+ inner pages one by one, as well as the cover and poster for the book.

It is a book about my observation, emotions and changes in Taiwan as an exchange student, and it was made to memorize my life there. The work was named Taiwan Plus (Taiwan+), because I was talking about the collision between objective Taiwan and my subjective perspective.

 

The illustration, editing, book design, and most of the photography works in this book were done by me. Most of the text was written by me. And several articles were provided by friends I met in Taiwan. The visual effect is inspired by Fountain (a Taiwan magazine), GOOD NIGHT, TIAO TONG and signboards in night markets of Taiwan.
